capabilities. The new Sky Plus box on sale uses
a hard disk combined with sophisticated software
to record the original digital broadcast stream,
meaning all recordings will be the same digital
quality as live viewing. This means Sky Plus has
the benefits of digital satellite, while delivering
a whole new level of control of television viewing.
This includes the ability to record one programme
while watching another, pause live TV and automatically
record episodes of your favorite series - all
without the need for video tapes and all in superb
digital quality!

Dolby Digital 5.1 output
The new Sky Plus boxes are capable of outputting
Dolby digital sound which when connect to a appropriate
Hi-Fi will give outstanding sound quality just
as you would get from a DVD player.
Pause live TV:
With Sky Plus you can press pause, answer the
phone, do the dishes and return to where you where
watching without missing a second.
Duel Tuner":
Sky Plus has two inbuilt digital tuners which
enables you to watch one programme while recording
another at the same time.
With Sky Plus you will never miss an episode
of your favourite show again:
If for example, you love Friends and don't want
to miss an episode, simply select one episode,
book a pass for all coming Friends events and
that's it. Sky Plus automatically records all
coming Friends shows so you will never miss an
episode!
Sky + lets your create your own TV channel
An advanced on-screen TV guide gives detailed
information 2 weeks in advance. You simply highlight
the broadcast you are interested in and press
"select". You can then select if you simply want
to be reminded (as with a 'normal' Digibox) or
if you want to record it. Imagine
1. Sit down and go through the different movies,
shows and events only once a week:
2. select what you like to be recorded.
3. after a couple of days (depending on your selections)
there is already a lot waiting for you and it
will start, pause, forward and rewind when you
want - just like a VCR, only better.

in Dolby Digital 5.1 (same as a DVD):
The Sky Plus box has an optical digital outlet.
Sky digital is broadcasting many movies in Dolby
Digital 5.1. You can check for yourself: simply
press "TV guide" on your remote control, select
"Movies" and browse the movies offered. Press
"i" for detailed information. In that information
at the top right you will see a "DD" on many movies'
description. These movies are being broadcast
in Dolby Digital 5.1. Of course, you will also
record all movies broadcast in Dolby Digital with
that same quality onto your Sky Plus box.
Will it fit to my old Sky dish ?
Yes it will work with your existing dish however
to be able to use all the Sky Plus functions you
require two feeds from the dish. For this you
need a so-called Twin-LNB or Quad-LNB. Without
the second feed you will get all the normal functions
of Sky Plus without the ability to record and
watch two different channels at the same time.
